One day, I was thinking about the true spirit of Detroit. People often think of grit, but when I think about Detroit, I think about heart.
While riding my bike past the Spirit of Detroit, I kept thinking about how the true spirit of this city comes from the heart of its people.
Then this idea popped into my head: What would the Spirit of Detroit look like if it had an X-ray?
That thought inspired this shirt — giving the Spirit of Detroit an X-ray and revealing the heart of the city underneath.
Because Detroit is more than grit. It’s heart. It’s soul. And it’s the people who give this city its spirit. ❤️
